Our Buildings

Concrete. Brick. Terrazzo. Sunshine. At Huckabee, our yin and yang philosophy brings learning environments, community centers and workspaces to life.

What We're Made Of

Our yin is strength and durability. That means our facilities are built to last centuries, not decades. It also means they’re low maintenance. Terrazzo, for example, withstands stampedes of foot traffic without loosing a step aesthetically.
Our yang is pure sunshine and light. Studies show that natural light enhances learning and productivity, so we focus on leveraging sunbeams as effectively as load-bearing beams. But don’t expect rows of troublesome skylights. We’ve found techniques like layered lighting and clerestory windows coax daylight more efficiently.
Essentially, we choose materials and techniques based on value and sustainability. Solid thinking and detailed planning keep us from sacrificing long-term value for short-term savings. And throughout the process, we never lose sight of what’s important – to extend the life of a building while we enhance life inside it.

The name Huckabee is synonymous with quality in the State of Texas.
