ABILENE ISD
The LIFT Career Technical Center
The LIFT (Leadership & Innovation in Future Technologies) is a new Career Technical Center and the first of its kind in Abilene ISD. It is an adaptive facility designed for 400 students; it will serve each of the district’s high schools. It is master planned onto a site that includes current and future TSTC buildings.
The aesthetic will match the forward facing intent of the campus. The interior will be open and flexible, with the central core situated so it’s open for community and after-hours access. The building is laid out to address site constraints and is split into three major zones for shop / industrial, core components and academics. The industrial wing includes shops for Construction, Welding and Agricultural Sciences. The hub of the campus includes Culinary Arts and food service kitchens, the administrative win, open media center, makerspace, cafeteria and flex spaces. The academic wing includes program space for: General Curriculum, Science, Engineering / Robotics, Information Technology and A/V. Teacher planning rooms are located within the wing.
