Anna Abascal

As a Sr. Interior Designer at Huckabee, Anna is an invaluable asset to our Austin-area teams and clients. With a decade of experience in education and another decade of designing education, healthcare, and workplace facilities, she focuses on the total experience of space, from ceilings and walls to functionality and adjacencies. Her talent and passion for solving problems enables her to take the client’s vision and develop welcoming and compelling interior spaces. As a former teacher, Anna knows how life-changing educational projects can be. By envisioning space from the perspective of both the designer and the end user, she keeps students in mind first and foremost. Her designs help them feel part of their community, proud of their environment, and empowered to develop a sense of ownership in their school. Anna leads her team by example, with empathy and patience, mentoring and equipping them with the skills they need to better themselves as designers and professionals. She strives to inspire her team to take risks, further their skills, and become leaders in their own right. Outside of work, she’s delivered food for Meals on Wheels for many years.
